Most people are at least a little familiar with the Three Stooges. This iconic comedy troupe starred in many movies in shows, and is the star of a few different slot games as well. We enjoy reviewing these games because of their iconic look, sound and their overall character. We were interested in reviewing this slot game the moment we heard about it. We didn’t expect it to be better than the original, but this slot game manages to top the other options and offer an excellent play experience. We outline just why that is down below in our review.
Minor Wagering
Wagers in this slot game must be kept small because of the way the wagering system works. There are just three paylines, and you must wager on all of them. The coins can range in size from $0.01 to $1.00 each. That means you can wager between $0.03 and $3.00 depending on the settings you choose. Most of the wager amounts possible will appeal to low stakes gamblers, and high rollers are going to be disappointed in the options available.
The Wilds are Three Times as Fun
Each wild in this slot are worth a 3x payout when you use them to complete a prize payout. If you complete a payout with two of the wilds you’ll trigger a 9x payout multiplied by the value of the only other symbol in the combination. Getting three wilds is the key to triggering the special progressive jackpot and winning more than $1,000.
Scatters, Bonuses and Excitement
Much of the fun of this slot comes from the different scatter symbols. Each of the Three Stooges serves as one of the scatters. These scatter symbols trigger instant prize payouts, but they also serve as tools to unlock the special bonus rounds of the game. There are three different bonuses, and they are defined by the character that’s on the three scatters you get to unlock it.
Getting three Moe’s brings you to the Moe’s Moolah feature. In the feature you roll a die five times, and can get between 10 free games with a 3x multiplier at the low end, and 100 free games with a 10x multiplier if you roll the best combination that you can. It’s easy to see how the prizes from the slot game can get pretty exciting with this special bonus feature.
Getting three of the Larry symbols brings you to Larry’s Stash. In this feature you roll a die and get between 7 free games with a 2x multiplier and 20 free games with a 7x multiplier depending on how you roll. No matter what you get, it’s clear that the Larry bonus isn’t as lucrative at Moe’s is.
Finally you have the Curly’s Cashola feature. This feature doesn’t have a prize ladder, or a die. Instead, you get a fixed 9 free games with a 3x multiplier. It’s possible to get additional free spins during this feature though. You just need to get a mix of three Moe, Larry and Curly symbols. Each time you do you get an additional free spin.
Random Jackpot Opportunities
It’s possible to unlock the minor or major jackpots at any time while playing the Three Stooges II slot game. They could trigger at the completion of any spin. That means the more you spin the reels, the more likely you are to trigger a random jackpot that pays out tens or hundreds of dollars. There’s another progressive jackpot as well, but that requires a symbol combination and some luck to unlock.
The Three Stooges Jackpot
The biggest progressive jackpot win comes from the Three Stooges Jackpot and it can trigger any time you get three wilds on the reels. This jackpot is rare, but it’s worth thousands of dollars if you manage to trigger it.
Thanks to all the different special features triggered by the scatter symbols, the Three Stooges II is an exciting slot experience. We really enjoyed testing the slot out and were impressed by the prize potential of the game if you are fortunate enough to do well when triggering the bonus round.
